Angela Hoover

Angela's interests within the field of entomology are quite broad and include natural history observation and documentation, systematics and taxonomy, biodiversity, outreach, and museum and collections work. As a member of Moore Lab, she reviewed the myrmecophilous carabid genus Homopterus. Homopterus is a small genus of beetles native to South America, which includes twelve presently described species, and at least one new species in need of description. In addition to constructing an updated key, she inferred the molecular phylogeny of the genus to determine the relationships among the broad antennal types seen across the genus.
